What’s the Procedure for Adult Circumcision?

For adult circumcisions, the procedure takes place in an Outpatient Surgical Center. After a preliminary phone consultation, we schedule an appointment where the doctor uses a local anesthetic to create a pain-free procedure. From start to finish, the entire procedure takes less than an hour.

You can rest assured that we take your medical care seriously. That’s why the procedure is performed by a Board Certified Urologist and a highly trained medical team. We also maintain a high level of hygiene as the procedure takes place in a sterile surgical environment.

As with any medical procedure, we also use the best equipment to improve your comfort and healing. Before the procedure, patients receive an injection of pain medication using high gauge needles to minimize the discomfort of the injection.

Once the medication takes effect, most people feel no pain at all during the procedure. Additionally, patients are given a prescription for pain management for the days following the circumcision.

Different Circumcision Medical Procedures

Our surgeons are trained in various procedures for adult circumcision and we customize the procedure for our clients. The two most common procedures are the Sleeve Resection Procedure and Dorsal Slit Procedure.

During your consultation, one of our Board Certified Urologists will determine which method to use based on your needs. After the procedure, the healing process begins. To speed up your recovery, our surgeons use self-dissolving stitches to reduce any discomfort and get you back on your feet.

Best Practices

Aftercare for Adult Circumcision

For your comfort, the aftercare for adult circumcision is straightforward and can be done at home. During the first few days, antibiotic ointment should be applied twice a day to the excision. This helps to lower the chances of infection. After that, there is nothing you need to do for the aftercare.

About one week after the procedure, an appointment is scheduled with the urologist for a simple follow-up. The entire healing process typically takes four weeks and normal sexual activity can be resumed.
